Digidesign's commitment to upgradability provides one of the truly unique benefits of a Digidesign system. Digidesign offers hardware exchanges for two reasons: to help longtime users get the newest system at a reduced cost, and to allow users to expand the capabilities of their DAW as their needs change.
All registered owners of select Pro Tools LE Systems (Digi 001, Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, Mbox, Mbox 2, Mbox Mini and Digi Toolbox/Audiomedia III) can exchange their current system up to 003 Factory or 003 Rack / Factory.
003 Factory and 003 Rack Hardware Exchange Program
The 003 Factory / 003 Rack Hardware Exchange program provides the opportunity for registered owners of Digi 001, Mbox, and Digi Toolbox/Audiomedia III to exchange up to a 96 kHz-capable, FireWire-based 003 Factory or 003 Rack recording system. The 003 and 003 Rack feature 8 channels of analog I/O (with 4 mic pres), 10 channels of digital I/O and built-in MIDI I/O. Additionally, the Digi 003 includes an integrated control surface with 8 touch-sensitive motorized faders, and 8 motion-sensitive rotary encoders. The Digi 003 Rack includes the same I/O capabilities as 003 Factory, but in a 2U enclosure.

Registration Required
The hardware being exchanged must be registered with Digidesign in order to qualify for the Hardware Exchange. AudioMIDI and Digidesign will not accept exchange orders for customers who are unable to provide registration via original registration card, dated dealer sales receipt, or a transfer of ownership form. To register equipment, customer can contact Digidesign Customer Service at 650 731 6100. Alternatively a product can be registered online by visiting www.digidesign.com/support.
Gear Return
Original hardware MUST be returned to Digidesign within 30 days of exchange. Customers will receive an RMA number from Digidesign with the Hardware Exchange shipment. This letter will provide a Return Authorization number and Digidesign’s shipping address and UPS account number to send back their gear at no cost. The RMA number should be clearly marked on the outside of the box. Failure to return the original hardware will result in that customer’s ineligibility for future software updates and other services from Digidesign. Dealers will not be held accountable for return of equipment to Digidesign.
