The Instrument Reflexion Filter from sE-Electronics is a smaller version of their Reflection Filter, designed for places where the larger sibling would not fit. The filter is a perfect solution for recording environments that are less than perfect, reducing room reflections and unwanted ambiance.
The unit consists of a small curved wall of punched aluminum, with three layers of polyester fiberboard separated by air gaps. A twelve-inch goose neck arm attaches to any microphone stand. The microphone mounting provision allows a pencil or end-address, small diaphragm microphone to be mounted in the center of the arc.
Recommended uses for the Instrument Reflexion Filter include the recording of individual percussion instruments, for overhead microphones, guitar amplifiers, pianos and wind instruments.
Note: The 1.125" diameter mounting hole is not suitable for large microphones.
