Vocals

TonePort™ hardware features studio-grade microphone preamps that make getting a truly professional-grade vocal tone easy. The exclusive GearBox™ tone software gives you models of the most sought after preamps in the recording world. GearBox even lets you run a completely different signal path for your microphone input with models of vintage preamps, compressors, and reverbs while still giving you the ultimate direct recording sound for your guitar or bass. In minutes, you’ll be creating sounds that typically take an entire studio, an expert engineer, and a huge hourly rate to pull off!

GearBox™ Exclusive Preamp Models

  • American Classic: This model gives you classic rock tone that’s focused and a bit compressed through soft distortion. It even includes the treasured tonality and saturation you'd get when recording to classic 24-track analog tape! Good for transients and maintaining a leveled vocal.
  • Vintage UK: Warm with mild distortion when pushed. Vintage UK handles transients very well and is great for vocal tracking. Extended bass range also makes it great for direct bass and drum work.
  • Modern: This modern must-have has a clean, bright, and non-compressed sound with soft transients.
  • Console: Has a flat frequency response that’s clean with no artifacts or colorization. A great choice for tracking line level instruments like a keyboard.
  • Vintage: This model yields vintage Motown, Memphis, Nashville, and early rock sounds.
  • Lo-Fi: Has a small speaker sound that’s slightly distorted. Great for adding an overdriven vocal to a track.

  • Stereo Monitor Input via stereo 1/4-inch jack

TonePort™ UX2 has all the features of its little brother UX1, plus a whole lot more!

The 2 mic ins are perfect for vocals and other mic'd sources, with +48v Phantom Power to drive the finest microphones. Use them for mono or stereo sources, and tone process them together or separately.

Digital Out

Connect UX2's digital out to your hardware digital recorder for direct digital recording of your premium Line 6 tone, as well as playback from your computer. Provides S/PDIF digital audio at 44.1/48KHz sample rates perfect for CD, DAT and many popular digital recording setups.

Extras

Some are obvious, like the hardware VU meters and footswitch jacks. You'll appreciate others when you need them, like guitar/bass inputs that handle high output instruments, separate volume control for the headphone out, and assignable metering.
