The UC-33e is capable of sending and receiving SysEx
dumps, whereas the UC-33 is not. This is the main difference between the older
and newer model.
Description
The Evolution UC-33e is an affordable USB hardware controller
designed to be used with any computer music/MIDI setup. The UC-33e allows instant
and simultaneous control of up to 47 different parameters, and with 33 memory
locations it’s easy to change your setup quickly. With its compact and intuitive
design, the UC-33e fits into any studio, putting the power of music software right
in your hands.
Using controllers should be easy but it often isn’t.
Setting up patches can be complicated and frustrating, and it’s often a
headache just to remember which knob controls what parameter. The UC-33e comes
with 33 pre-set configurations, allowing instant control of the most popular virtual
instruments and host applications (including Propellerhead Reason, Ableton Live,
and Cubase SX). The UC-33e also ships with 5 color overlays customized to your
favorite software program, plus a blank template you can tailor to your personal
setup needs.
All assignable real-time controllers are easily programmed
via the numerical keypad. Each of the UC-33e’s 47 controllers can transmit
pre-programmed Sys-Ex messages and can also be programmed to transmit on individual
MIDI channels. Your setups can be stored in any of the 33 memory locations for
easy recall. The Memory dump facility allows the entire contents of the UC-33e
to be sent from the unit to your desired location. A librarian program for PC
users is also included for saving, editing and sharing keyboard setups.
The UC-33e’s unique controller mute function mutes
the output of all controllers, allowing you to position them before tweaking,
thereby eliminating jumping filters or levels during your performance. The unit
also features a drawbar mode for the sliders, which greatly enhances the experience
of playing virtual instruments such as Native Instruments’ B4 Organ.
The UC-33e can also be used with a conventional
MIDI setup, for live performances, or as a remote controller for your existing
studio rack. When used in standalone mode, the MIDI Out can be used to send MIDI
controller data to your MIDI rack.
